Pedagogy Of Alkebulan Diaspora (POAD)

The Pedagogy of Alkebulan Diaspora is a teaching and learning approach that is grounded in the cultural and historical experiences of people of African descent around the world through poetry. It is informed by the understanding that the education and socialization of people have been shaped by experiences of colonization, slavery, and ongoing struggles for social justice. At its core, the P.O.A.D. challenges the systemic oppression that has historically marginalized communities. The importance of recognizing cultural practices and even questioning them is inherent in this collection of poetry. This approach aims to promote critical thinking, individual growth, consciousness, and social responsibility among learners.
